Catching up and the NHS

by mari66 @ Thursday, 20. Apr, 2006 - 09:39:59

Where does time go? It's ages since I last had a moment to write on my blog.
Have been suffering from morning sickness and that kind of knocked me for six over the past couple of weeks. And I still haven't told mum yet - I'm waiting for the 12 weeks mark to do that.
I did tell Wendy though. Actually Dave, her husband broke the news to her gently in private and yes she did suffer, but she came round and wished us all the best. My heart goes out to her and I hope they manage soon. She was my major worry (apart from miscarriage) and we have had a chat since.
I also told my daughter Megan, who is thrilled to bits and in her own words is already planning what she'll do now. Convinced it'll be a girl!
Anyway, we're getting so much bad press about the NHS recently and yesterday I spotted in the London Metro that Manchester NHS are paying £3000 approx for a transvestite to have her tattos removed as they are causing her so much stress! Can you believe it?
This is where it's all going wrong. How can these overpaid managers make such crass decisions?
I must admit, I went for my first check up to my GP to let him know I was pregnant and I left incredibly disppointed. He doesn't 'know' me at all and his first question was 'Oh, so you're keeping it then?'
Now if I've come in beaming with my news I would have thought it pretty obvious, no?
How much are these guys earning? £250,000 pa? I'm sorry but I don't think they're worth that much.
Who has the answer?
